The Central Government has approved a plan to “Modernize and Develop the Kochi Fishing Port”.
- Union Fisheries Minister Mr.Parshottam Rupala and Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Mr.Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the “Modernization and High Development of Cochin Fishing Port” project at Thoppampatti on Willingdon Island on June 11.
- The Minister said that the project will be implemented with the objective of “Utilizing 700 fishing boats operating in Cochin fishing port and improving the direct livelihood chain of about 10000 fishermen and indirect livelihood improvement of 30000 fishermen”.
“UAE” – has emerged as the “4th largest investor in India” this year 2023.
- Foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UAE to India has tripled this year, from USD 1.03 billion in 2021-22 to USD 3.35 billion in the last financial year, making it “India’s 4th largest investor”.
- Economists attribute this development to the signing of the “Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)” between the two countries, which came into effect on May 1.
“Director General Level Border Coordination Conference” between BSF and BGB begins june in Delhi.
- The 53rd Director General’s “Status Border Coordination Conference” between India’s Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) began in Delhi on June 11.
- The four-day conference has been organized to discuss “Joint prevention of various cross-border crimes and border security coordination and border-related issues between the two countries”. It is notable that the BSF-BGB coordination conference was held in “Dhaka” in 2022.
Plan to hold a conference on June 12 to promote “Digital Security”.
- The G20 has organized a Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) conference on the theme “Development and Enhancement of Digital Security” in Pune on June 12. The conference will be held from June 12 to June 14.
- It is reported that the conference will focus on three key elements: public and efficient infrastructure of the digital platform, ensuring security in the digital public economy and promoting digital capabilities.

The “SAI20” summit is planned to be held in Goa under the leadership of CAG.
- A three-day “SAI20” summit under India’s leadership as part of the G20 will be held in “Goa” under the chairmanship of the Auditor General of India (CAG). The conference is scheduled to be held from June 12 to June 14.
- It has been announced that Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu will preside over this conference. Discussions will be held at the conference aimed at promoting “Blue economy and responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The Union Government to organize “Buyer-Seller” workshops in all districts of Uttar Pradesh State.
- The Central Government e-Marketplace (GeM) will organize workshops for “Buyer-Seller” in all “75 districts of Uttar Pradesh” from June 12.
- The workshops are said to be aimed at “Enhancing understanding of GeM’s activities among buyers and sellers in the state and providing a platform for redressal of any queries or grievances between the two parties.”
India has signed a $130 million loan agreement to “Promote Horticulture in Himachal Pradesh”.
- The Government of India has signed a $130 million loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on June 8, 2023 to raise farmers’ incomes, improve irrigation facilities, increase agricultural productivity and develop horticultural agri-businesses in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
- The Indian government said the project aims to increase the “Income and Resilience” of at least “15,000” farm families in seven districts of Himachal Pradesh state: Bilaspur, Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, Sirmur, Una and Solan.

“Pieter Elbers” has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
- IndiGo announced on June 11 that its CEO Pieter Elbers has been elected “Chairman of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Board of Governors”.
- IndiGo said the appointment of Pieter Elbers will bring significant growth and development to the Indian aviation industry.
The union government has appointed Amit Aggarwal as the CEO of UIDAI and Subodh Kumar Singh as DG in NDA.
- As per the recent Ministry of Personnel order, Amit Aggarwal has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, Government of India.
- Similarly, the Central Government has appointed Subodh Kumar Singh as the Director General of the National Testing Agency (DG NTA).
- The central government has said that with this appointment, both of them will work well in the tasks assigned to them.

The Indian team has clinches the “Women’s Junior Asia Hockey Cup 2023”.
- The Indian hockey team defeated the Korea hockey team 2-1 in the Women’s Junior Asia Hockey Cup at Kakamigahara, Japan on June 11, 2023.
- It is also notable that this is the first time that India has won the Women’s Junior Asia Cup. For India, Neelam (40′) and Annu (21′) were very helpful in reaching the winning goal.
Australia clinched the “ICC World Test Champions Tournament” 2023.
- Australia clinched the 2023 ICC World Test Championship trophy with a resounding 209-run win over India in a thrilling WTC final at London’s Oval.
- With this victory, Australia became the only nation to win the trophy in all types of competitions conducted under the ICC. What’s more, Australia now holds “9 ICC trophies” by registering this win.
“Novak Djokovic” clinch his 23rd Grand Slam title at the French Open.
- Novak Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud of Norway 7–6 (1), 6–3, 7–5 in the final of the French Open to win his third Roland Garros title and 23rd Grand Slam title.
- And with this win, he became the first man to win each of the Grand Slam tournaments three times, setting a world record.
The Indian pair has won the mixed doubles title at the Denmark Masters 2023.
- India’s mixed doubles team Rohan Kapoor and Sikki Reddy won the Denmark Masters 2023 title on June 11.
- Rohan and Reddy won the title after defeating Denmark’s Mads Vestergaard and Christine Busch in straight sets 21-16, 21-17. And this title is the third title won by an Indian pair.
Murray clinched the “Surbiton title 2023”.
- Andy Murray won his second ATP Challenger Tour title of the season on home soil at the Lexus Surbiton Cup on June 11.
- In this ATP Challenger Tour 125 grass-court event, he defeated former World No.1 Jurij Rodionov 6-3, 6-2 in a rain-interrupted final.
“Uruguay” has won the first Under-20 World Cup in its history.
- Uruguay’s national football team won its first U-20 World Cup on June 11, defeating Italy 1–0.
- It is notable that the Uruguayan player Luciano Rodríguez scored his and the team’s first goal in the 86th minute and laid the foundation for the country’s victory. The massive victory ended a four-match winning streak by European teams in the last tournament.
India wins Asian Continental Women’s Chess Championship.
- Divya Deshmukh won the Asian Continental Women’s Chess Championship held in Kazakhstan on June 11.
- It is notable that in this nine-round continental tournament, Indian player Divya started the tournament as the runner-up and ended the eight-day tournament with 7.5 points.

World Day against Child Labour 2023
- The Day Against Child Labour is observed every year on June 12 to highlight the “Plight of children involved in arduous and inhumane occupations” to the world and to mobilize people’s activities as a catalyst for a global movement against child labour.
- The day was first observed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002. Social Justice for All. End Child Labour! is the theme for this year.
