President of India Draupadi Murmu has been awarded Suriname’s highest civilian award.
- Draupadi Murmu, the President of the Republic of India, has been awarded the country’s highest civilian honor – The Grand Order of the Chain of the Yellow Star – in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname.
- Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi conferred this prestigious award on the President of our country and Draupadi Murmu is the first President of India to receive this award.
Introduction of two schemes to restore Mangroves and wetlands.
- On June 5, Prime Minister Modi launched two projects, “Amrit Darohar and Mishti” to restore undulating forests and wetlands across the country.
- If this Amrit Darohar Yojana is launched, the existing Ramsar sites will be protected through public participation and these sites will become a source of green employment opportunities for thousands of people and become eco-tourism centers.
Plan to conduct “One Student One Tree Campaign 2023”.
- Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on June 5 announced the launch of the All India Institute of Technical Education (AICTE) “One Student One Tree Campaign 2023”.
- At the same time, he published “Guidelines and Curriculum Framework for Environmental Education at Undergraduate Level”. He said that this campaign will bring awareness about the Mission Life initiative (Mission LiFE) among people.
First Woman Commanding Officer of the Communication Zone Mechanized Transport Battalion takes charge.
- Colonel Shuchita Shekhar has become the first woman officer of the Army Service Corps to “command the Communication Zone Mechanized Transport Battalion” of the Indian Army, it was officially announced on 5th June.
- He has been appointed in charge of maintaining a supply chain in the Northern Command of the Indian Army called Dhruva Command, the notification said.
CBFC launches a new mobile app and revamped website in Mumbai.
- Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) chairman Prasoon Joshi has launched a new “Mobile app and Website” in Mumbai.
- The website will provide timely updates on new and upcoming events, announcements, circulars, orders, etc. and the new mobile app will facilitate “Real-time progress monitoring of tentative screening dates and application status,” he said.
Three MoUs have been signed between India and Suriname.
- Three MoUs were signed between India and the Republic of Suriname in the “Sectors of Health and Agriculture” in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname.
- The MoUs include a joint work plan for cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors for the period 2023-2027 and development of Indian pharmaceutical standards, regulation of medicinal products.
Naval success in torpedo test to destroy underwater targets.
- On June 6, the Indian Navy successfully conducted an underwater target destruction test using an Indian-developed heavy duty torpedo under the Made in India programme.
- This missile, known as ‘sea skimming’, has the ability to attack and destroy a target floating in the sea from below. According to the Indian Navy, this missile has a range of almost 300 km and is capable of hitting the target.

Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has received New Zealand’s second highest award.
- Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has received one of the country’s highest honors for leading the country through and the coronavirus pandemic mass shootings
- Ardern has been awarded Dame Grand Companionship, New Zealand’s second highest honour, as part of King Charles’ Birthday Honours.

“Asia’s Largest Cluster Development Project” has been launched in Maharashtra
- Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launches “Asia’s largest, most historic and ambitious cluster development project” in Thane.
- Shinde said the project aims to promote “well-equipped healthcare, sports, education, recreation and civic amenities” in the redeveloped urbanisation. Mainly after the collapse of the “Sairaj Building” which claimed 18 lives, the project has been developed for joint redevelopment of unauthorized and official dangerous buildings.
Inauguration of “Kerala Fibre Optic Network project(KFON)” in Kerala.
- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the “Kerala Fiber Optic Network project(KFON)” at the Sankaranarayanan Thampi Hall of the state assembly on June 5.
- The scheme aims to ensure affordable internet access for all in the state and provide free internet to more than twenty lakh poor families.
Himachal State Government has signed an MoU with Oil India for “Green Hydrogen”.
- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur has signed an agreement between the state and Oil India for “Promotion and development of Green Hydrogen production”.
- He mentioned that through this agreement, the production and supply of green hydrogen in Himachal State will increase equally and thereby improve the economic development of the state.
Archaeological discovery
Metals and gold objects have been found in the Vembakottai excavation, Tamilnadu.
- A gold plate and a gold ornament were found on June 6 in an ongoing excavation at Vembakottai near Chatur in Virudhunagar district.
- Various types of artifacts including flint ware and conch bangles are being found during this 2nd phase of excavation. In this context, it is considered significant here that “Earrings and Gold plate” made of gold have been found in the amount of 2 grams each.

Introduction to “Financial Inclusion Dashboard – ANTARDRIHSTI”.
- RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das launched the “Financial Inclusion Dashboard – ANTARDRIHSTI” on 5th June.
- The system is said to provide the necessary insight to assess and monitor the progress of financial inclusion by capturing financial burden related parameters. As the dashboard is currently designed keeping in mind the RBI’s internal application system, it is expected to further facilitate greater financial inclusion through a multi-stakeholder approach.

Dhanush Srikanth has won gold in the “ISSF Junior World Cup” in 10m Air Shooting category.
- “Dhanush Srikanth” won India’s gold in the men’s 10m air rifle event at the 2023 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup.
- Dhanush scored 249.4 points from 24 shots in his final to claim the medal.
India wins gold in men’s shot put at U-20 Asian Athletics Championships
- Siddharth Chaudhary has won gold in men’s shot put at the ongoing Asian Under-20 Athletics Championship 2023 in South Korea.
- India’s Siddharth Chaudhary won gold in men’s shot put with a throw of 19.52m.
