The two-day G-20 Workforce Engagement Summit will be held in Bihar
- The two-day G-20 Workforce Engagement Summit is scheduled to take place on June 22 and 23 in Bihar’s capital, Patna. About 180 delegates from G20 member countries are expected to participate in this conference.
- During this two-day mega event, representatives of trade unions and officials from G-20 countries are expected to meet and discuss issues related to labor and skills in agriculture, energy, employment, environment and related sectors.

Indian Army Team Participation in International Joint Peacekeeping Exercise Ex Khaan Quest 2023
- The Indian Army contingent is participating in the international joint peacekeeping exercise Ex Khan Quest 2023 in Mongolia. The President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, inaugurated the exercise today.
- The Indian Army is represented by a team from Garhwal Rifles. The 14-day exercise aims to improve the interoperability of the participating countries, share experience and train uniformed personnel for United Nations peacekeeping operations.

- Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal on Monday Launches Innovative Traffic Monitoring Project in Chennai through ‘Google Map’.
- To ensure road safety and smooth traffic flow in Chennai, the Metropolitan Police Department has developed a live traffic monitoring program in collaboration with IIT Chennai and a private company. For this, 300 junctions covering 1000 roads in Chennai are being monitored.

- It is to be noted that the current “RAW” chairman, Samant Goyal, is set to complete his four-year tenure on June 30.
Swaminathan Janakiraman appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI
- Swaminathan Janakiraman has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India for a term of 3 years.
- According to a notification issued today, Janakiraman’s name has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Janakiraman is currently as the Managing Director of the State Bank of India.

Precautionary vaccine against Omicron-microbe has been prepared using indigenous technology
- The Department of Biotechnology(DBT) has announced that an mRNA-based preventive vaccine against Omicron-microbe has been developed using indigenous technology.
- The vaccine, developed by Gennova Biopharmaceuticals with support from the Covid Suraksha mission, has been approved by the Biotechnology Industrial Research Council. It has been approved by the Drug Control Directorate of India for its emergency use.

Venus Williams wins Birmingham Classic
- World ranked No. 697 Venus Williams defeats No. 48 Camila Giorgi at the Birmingham Classic tennis tournament on June 19. It was Williams’ first win against a top 50 player in four years.
- Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus 43 defeated Giorgi 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-6 (6). The match lasted three hours and 17 minutes.
Geetanjali won a gold medal in the Special Olympics Games
- The Special Olympics World Games are being held in Berlin from June 17. 198 players have participated on behalf of India and more than 7,000 players from 190 countries are participating in this tournament.
- With a total of 26 events to be held, India’s Geetanjali set a record by winning the gold medal in the women’s 800m athletics event. It is noteworthy that this is the first gold won by India in the Special Olympics World Games.
First Indian woman to win bronze medal at Asian Fencing Championships
- Olympian Bhavani Devi became the first Indian to win a bronze medal at the Asian Fencing Championships in China.
- She lost to Zainab Taybekova of Uzbekistan 15-14 in the semi-finals to secure the bronze medal.
