India, France and UAE have started a “Joint Maritime Exercise”.
- India, France and the United Arab Emirates launched the first edition of the Maritime Partnership Exercise in the Gulf of Oman on June 07.
- The first exercise aims to enhance “Trilateral cooperation” between the three navies and take action to counter long-term and contemporary threats in the maritime environment. This training is planned to be conducted for 2 days.
Launch of 2 Year Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources.
- The Haryana Chief Minister launched the “Two-year Integrated Water Resources Action Plan (2023-25)” on June 9.
- According to the scheme, 49.7 percent of water has been saved in 2 years in 4 major sectors. The project aims to address the challenges of water scarcity and water logging.
The decision to set the target for trade from “320 million euros to one billion euros”.
- The Serbian Foreign Ministry announced on June 8 that India and Serbia’s trade target has been approved to increase from €320 million to €1 billion by the end of this decade.
- With this approval, bilateral relations will be further strengthened and both countries will work together for global economic development.
IICA and NALSAR launch programs on “LL.M in Unsettled and Bankruptcy Laws”.
- The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) in association with NALSAR Law University, Hyderabad has launched a new program in New Delhi, LL.M in “Insolvency and Bankruptcy Laws”.
- The main objective of the program is to produce “Excellent academicians, Scientific professionals and Researchers” at IBC through this programme.
An MoU has been signed between Amazon Kisan and Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
- The Indian Organization of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has signed an MoU with Amazon Kisan in New Delhi to “Empower farmers life”.
- Through this agreement, Amazon will provide technical background to the farmers through the network which will help the farmers to scientifically grow various crops for optimal yield and their improved income.
An MoU has been entered into between IICA and RRU.
- IICA and RRU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 9, 2023 to “Enhance cooperation in education, research and training and exchange of knowledge and resources”.
- The agreement is aimed at financial crime prevention, law enforcement, internal security, corporate fraud prevention and education capacity growth.

1.6 billion year old fossil discovered.
- Fossils of Earth’s “Ancient Waterways” that lived about 1.6 billion years ago have been found fossilized in oceanic rocks off the northern coast of Australia.
- The discovery could trace the eukaryotic process to the ancestors of organisms that lived 1.6 billion years ago and could revolutionize scientists’ understanding of our earliest ancestors, scientists said.

“District Good Governance Index” (DGGI) of Arunachal Pradesh has been published.
- DARPG and Government of Arunachal Pradesh’s knowledge partner CGG, Hyderabad jointly released the “First District Good Governance index of Arunachal Pradesh” on June 8, 2023.
- The government of Arunachal Pradesh informed that the index has been formulated after extensive consultation with 7 rounds of multidisciplinary meetings. This index ranks the districts of Arunachal Pradesh division wise as West, East and Central divisions.
Jammu & Kashmir has topped the Food Security Index 2022-23 for the third time in a row.
- It is seen as a remarkable achievement that Jammu and Kashmir has topped the Union Territory (UT) category in this year’s Food Security Index.
- It is notable that Jammu and Kashmir has received this third consecutive award in 2023, following 2021 and 2022. At the same time, Jammu and Kashmir has also bagged the first prize for having the maximum number of “Eat Right Mela” districts in the country.
A new facility called “DigiYatra” has been introduced to facilitate travel at New Delhi International Airport.
- A new facility called “DigiAtra” has been introduced at New Delhi International Airport to make travel easier.
- The initiative was launched at IGI Airport Terminal 3 to allow passengers to avail the facility through a “simple three-land check-in process”. The move will allow passengers to travel seamlessly between the “Departure terminal, security check area and boarding gate”, the administration said.
“Coimbatore” tops 231 districts of FSSAI’s “Eat Right Challenge” – Phase II edition.
- “Coimbatore” topped the list of 231 districts in the ‘Eat Right Challenge – Second Edition’ conducted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
- It is notable that Coimbatore has retained this position by scoring 196 points out of a total of 200 in the evaluation conducted from May 2022 to November 15, 2022.
Launch of “Tamil Textbook Scheme” in Govt ITI Centers.
- On June 08, Chief Minister Stalin launched a scheme to set up 71 government technical centers in Tamil Nadu and provide textbooks in Tamil to students in Industrial Training Institutes.
- While the textbooks used by the students in the Industrial Training Institutes have been in English till now, according to the request made by the Labor Welfare Department, an announcement has been made that all the trainees in the government Industrial Training Institutes will be given textbooks in Tamil. The Chief Minister inaugurated the scheme on June 8 at Oragadam in Kanchipuram.

RBI has allowed banks to issue FOREX cards with RuPay prepayment.
- In an effort to provide more payment options to Indians traveling abroad, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to offer RuPay Prepaid FOREX Cards to all Indian banks.
- These cards can be used at ATMs, point-of-sale (PoS) machines and online merchants abroad, the RBI notification said.

Tamil Chemmal b. Sivaramakrishnan (93) passed away.
- Tenkasi Thiruvalluvar Kazhagam Secretary Siva Ramakrishnan (93), Tamil philanthropist, passed away on June 8 due to ill health.
- He has received the titles of “Thirukkural thondar” of Rajapalayam Thiruvalluvar Council, “Thirukkural Panichemmal” of Manapparai Thirukkural Council, “Tamil Mamani” of Chennai Tamil Mines, “ilakkiya Chemmal” of Nellai Cloth Merchant Literary Circle. It is notable that on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, he was awarded the “Tamil Semmel ” award on December 21, 2022.
