India has won its third medal in Tokyo Olympics. Lovlina Borgohain the woman boxer made this country proud by securing her bronze medal in the boxing event today. Turkish boxer Busenaz Surmeneli has take down our boxer in the welterweight semifinals at Tokyo 2020.
- Tokyo was selected as the host city during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 7 September 2013. This event was originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020. But due to the pandemic, the committee has postponed this event. Now this event has been conducting by the committee at the same place.
- Already, Mirabai Chanu secured silver, followed by PV Sindhu’s bronze in badminton. Next by this, Lovlina had reached the semi-finals defeating former world champion Nin Chin Chen of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals. Hence, she won the bronze medal. This is the third medal for India in this Tokyo Olympics 2020.
