‘UMMID’ initiative to tackle inherited genetic diseases of new born babies
The Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched UMMID (Unique Methods of Management and treatment of Inherited Disorders) initiative and inaugurated NIDAN (National Inherited Diseases Administration) Kendras, which is being supported by Department of Biotechnology (DBT),M/o Science and Technology.
UP celebrated first anniversary of PMJAY as Ayushman Bharat Day
Uttar Pradesh is celebrating the first anniversary of PM Jan Arogya Yojna, as a Ayushman Bharat Day on September 23. Under the scheme, more than 36 lakh golden cards have been issued in the last one year in the state.
First corporate run train from Lucknow to Delhi ‘Tejas Express’
In Uttar Pradesh, the most awaited country’s first corporate run train from Lucknow to Delhi, Tejas Express is all ready to hit the tracks on 4th of October. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will flag off the train from Lucknow which will be run by IRCTC.
Giant earthworm found at the foot of Western Ghats
The earthworm measures 950 mm (more than 3 feet) and is 20 mm in width. This was the first time such a large earthworm had been sighted in the Western Ghats and the coastal belt. The giant earthworms begin migrating at night during the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon periods.
Cyclonic Storm ‘HIKAA’
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday informed that Cyclonic Storm ‘Hikaa’ will reach Oman coast by the early morning of September 25.
A deep depression over the Arabian Sea has intensified into cyclonic storm ‘Hikaa’ that will cause strong winds along the Gujarat coast. The deep depression that formed over northeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea intensified into the cyclonic storm Hikaa after moving nearly westwards.
Typhoon Tapah lashes South Korea
A powerful typhoon battered southern South Korea, injuring 26 people and knocking out power to about 27,790 houses. Typhoon Tapah earlier lashed parts of Japan’s southern islands with heavy rains and winds that caused flooding and some minor injuries.
Knowledge Management Portal “SIDHIEE”
Ministers Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri RK Singh released Energy Conservation Guidelines for MSMEs and launched the Knowledge Management Portal “SIDHIEE” under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency BEE’s MSME Programme. This portal will host useful information including fifty videos of multimedia tutorials for MSMEs for early adoption of energy efficient technologies.
National Conclave on Energy Efficiency in MSME sector
Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri RK Singh jointly inaugurated the National Conclave on Enhancing Energy Efficiency in MSME sector in New Delhi. The two-day Conclave is being organized by Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE) with participation from MSME entrepreneurs, Industry Associations, technology and service providers, sectoral energy experts and senior officials from the Government.
