ஆசிய மல்யுத்தம் – இந்திய வீராங்கனைகள் 4 தங்கப்பதக்கம் வென்று அசத்தல்

• கிர்கிஸ்தான் பிஷ்கெக்கில் நடைபெறும் ஆசிய 17 வயதுக்குட்பட்டோர் மல்யுத்தப் போட்டிகளில் இந்திய வீராங்கனைகள் 4 தங்கம் ஒரு வெண்கலம் வென்று அசத்தியுள்ளனர்.
• முஷ்கன் (40கிலோ ), சுருதி (46கிலோ), ரீனா (52கி), சவிதா (61கி) ஆகியோர் அட்டகாசமாக ஆடி தங்கம் வெல்ல, மன்சி பதனா (69கி) வெண்கலம் வென்றார்.
• கிரீக்கோ -ரோமன் பிரிவில் ரோனித் சர்மா (48கிலோ), தங்கம் வென்றார். 110 கிலோ எடைப்பிரிவி பிரதீப் சிங் மற்றும் மோஹித் கோகர் (80கி) வெள்ளி மற்றும் வெண்கலம் வென்றனர்.
• பெண்கள் மல்யுத்தத்தின் ஐந்து எடைப் பிரிவுகளிலும், ஃப்ரீ ஸ்டைல் பிரிவில் மூன்று எடைப் பிரிவுகளிலும் மீதமுள்ள போட்டிகள் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை நடைபெறும். ஜூன் 26ம் தேதி போட்டிகள் முடிவடைகின்றன.

8வது சர்வதேச யோகா தினம்

• 8வது சர்வதேச யோகா தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. ‘மனிதநேயத்துக்கான யோகா (Yoga for humanity)’ என்ற கருத்தை மையமாக கொண்டு இந்த ஆண்டுக்கான யோகாதினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது
• இந்தியாவின் 75வது சுதந்திர தினத்தை முன்னட்டு நாட்டின் 75 முக்கிய இடங்களில் நடைபெறும் யோகா நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் மத்திய அமைச்சர்கள் கலந்துகொள்கின்றனர்.
• மைசூருவில் நடைபெறும் யோகா நிகழ்ச்சியில் பிரதமர் மோடி பங்கேற்றுள்ளார். மைசூரு அரண்மனை வளாகத்தில் நடைபெறும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் பிரதமர் மோடியுடன் சேர்ந்து கர்நாடக முதலமைச்சர் பசவராஜ் பொம்பை மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் 15,000 பேர் பங்கேற்றுள்ளனர்.

8th International Yoga Day

• 8th International Yoga Day is celebrated. This year’s Yoga Day is centered around the concept of ‘Yoga for humanity’. Union ministers attend yoga programs at 75 key locations across the country ahead of India’s 75th Independence Day.
• Prime Minister Modi participates in a yoga program in Mysore. The event, which will be held at the Mysore Palace premises, was
  attended by Prime Minister Modi, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Pompeii and 15,000 members of the public.

Asian Wrestling – Indian wins 4 gold medals

• Indian wrestlers have won four gold and one bronze medal at the Asian Under-17 Wrestling Championships in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Mushkan (40kg), Surudi (46kg), Reena (52kg) and Savita (61kg) won gold while Mansi Pathana (69kg) won bronze.
• Ronit Sharma (48 kg) won gold in the Greco-Roman category. Pradeep Singh and Mohit Kokar (80kg) won silver and bronze in the 110kg weight category. The remaining competitions will be held on Tuesday in the five weight categories of women’s wrestling and the three weight categories in the freestyle category. The tournament ends on June 26th.

21st Amendment – Approved by the Cabinet of Sri Lanka

• In Sri Lanka, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was repealed and the 20th Amendment was introduced. The amendment gives Adiba Gotabhaya Rajapaksa unlimited power. In this context, the 21st Amendment seeks to repeal the 20A Amendment, reduce the powers vested in the Chancellor and give additional powers to Parliament.
• The Cabinet of Ministers of Sri Lanka has approved the 21st Amendment. Wijetasa Rajapaksa, Minister of Constitutional Affairs of Sri Lanka has stated that the Cabinet has also approved the 21A Amendment.
• According to Amendment 21A, the President of Sri Lanka and the Ministries of that country are obliged to answer to Parliament. In addition, 15 committees and oversight committees will be binding on Parliament.
• The amendment also prohibits citizens of both countries from competing in Sri Lankan constituencies.
